Atheros driver for windows7 on Acer Aspire 5740 not connecting to wireless
I own Acer Aspire 5740 laptop with windowa7. It has Atheros drivers to connect to wifi. I did not have any problems until few weeks before. But, now every time I start my computer my Network Center displays it connected to the network but no internet access. At the same time other systems I have connect to the wireless without any problem. I have to restart the router every time to make my computer connect to the network. This is strange I dont know whats happening. After restarting the router it connects to the network and gets the internet access. This is odd. Whom to blame? Acer? Windows? or Atheros? Please suggest me some solution. This is driving me nuts.

I believe that this is your router that is giving you troubles. try reset (not restart) the router and see if the problem persists.

Hi, According the issue, when you connect to your wireless router but cannot access to internet, use “ipconfig -all” to show the IP configuration on your computer. Then restart your router, use the same method to export your IP configuration again. Please post the results here. You could try to connect your computer to another wireless to check whether this problem is caused by client or router. If this problem is caused by the router, you may try to reset your router. Hope that helps Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
