Yes, try installing the driver for Windows Vista x64 version: TL-WN422G V1 & V2. You can install it in compatibility mode to see if the issue can be resolved. To do this, please refer to HOW TO: Install a Hardware Device Driver using Compatibility Mode. However, if the issue still exists, please contact the manufacturer and confirm whether the updated driver is available. Please Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability. Sincerely, Linda

Then, you need to wait for the manufacturer to publish the driver update which is compatible with Windows 7...

Here are a list of drivers from the Windows Update Catalog. Try one of those. Shown as Win 7 client, although the date is not new. Click add to basket, then go to basket to download.

Here is the method from TP-Link support FAQs to install the driver. The default to 5007ug is incorrect. Try that with the Vista 64-bit package. Was this one of every possible solutions?

OK. now enter device manager>network adapters>expand to see if the TL-WN422G is list-if yes-is there a ! next to it? Right click on it and select properties-if it says not working properly-select troubleshootYou could also try the hardware troubleshooter-click on the flag at the lower right in the notification area of the desktop>select open action center or select problem and start the trouble shooter.

works in xp service pack 3 compatibility mode

Yes. You have it working? Internet connection? So, it seems the solution was a manual install of the drivers and then the compatibility mode install using XPSP3 and last version, correct?I don't understand why the compatibility mode didn't work the first time. You now know how to get older drivers to work in Windows 7. Enjoy!

When I plugged my tp link into usb windows it automatically installed a driver. Then I went to device manager and uninstalled that driver, and after that I went to option update driver softvare. Then in the device manager I saw the device with a yellow triangle and I got a message that this device was not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31). After that I ran the driver in win xp sp3 compatibility mode and it worked. The problem is with atheros ar5007ug .

I had a similar problem with the Atheros Adapter, although my problem turned out to be my Zone Alarm Extreme Security. Had to Uninstall the ZA,reinstall the atheros, then it works fine, then reinstall the ZA. Working fine now.
