Asus P5AD2E-premium, WAP works but not WPA, WPA2.
Windows 7 32-bit instaneously recognized the soldered-on wifi 802.11 b/g upon the installation and downloaded an appropriate driver for it.The problem is that the soldered-on wifi 802.11 b/g works well through WAP but not WPA or WPA2.I've tweaked just about every parameters without success. The small network icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen displays all the available wifi networks around the neighborhood but it won't describe whether they are WPA or WPA2 compatible. I also did manual setup in the Network and Sharing Center to focefully connect the PC to the wifi router but couldn't.Is this the driver problem or the firmware? Is there a fix available?I've read from other forum that the built-in wifi 802.11 b/g chip is the Asus WL-138g PCI card made by Marvell. I've tried their drivers but didn't work. Your expertice is greatly appreciated.

I have a correction to make.My confusion was that Windows 7 polls and displays available networks differently compared to the XP.Anyway, the Asus P5AD2E-premium's built-in 801.11 g chip can see and define whether the neighboring networks are WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK and what type the radio is.However, it can't connect to my 2Wire wifi router in which it was set to WPA & WPA2. The router won't allow me to choose both WAP and WPA so it was only set to WPA & WPA2. My two other notebook PCs (Vista & XP SP3) can hook up to the wifi router no problem which are all set to WPA2 AES encryption.
