I am trying to implement strong password policy in Windows XP Home. I want to make the password expire in 90 days.I followed the instructions in this article using a Windows XP Home Edition. I used the command 'net accounts' both before and after doing the step to add a registry entry and each time the net accounts shows the max password being 'unlimited. The only change that I made to the registry was MaxPasswordAge entry.I rebooted the system after doing the changes to the registry and it didn't make a difference. Has anyone successfully done this in Windows XP Home ? One thing that I noticed was that the 'Network' directory did not exist in the registry so I added that directory (folder) and then added the MaxPasswordAge entry into the directory. Any thoughts ?1 person got this answerI do too
