Application failed to Initalize properly (0xc0000142) explorer.exe
I have Windows XP - I had a trojan appear on McFee which appeared to block it. So I ran full scan and it reported 1 Item Detected and to view details McFee locks up. Now when I start the PC I get the following message "Application failed to Initailize properly (0Xc0000142) explorer.exe I can run explorer manually from the Task Manager to get Windows running but it seems to run slow and sometimes locks up. I've run a disk check which appeared clean. Any ideas? I don't really want to have to re-install Windows if I can help it. Thanks - Tony.1 person needs an answerI do too

Try using system restore back to a date in which you did not receive the error message. Post your results. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/getstarted/ballew_03may19.mspx Regards, JoelFree computer support and diagnostics -->> http://repairbotsonline.forumotion.com/
