I have Windows 7 Operating System - it became corrupted so I did a total reinstall. Upon reinstall, I want to access my AppData folder, which I was able to do in the prior version by going into the control panel and enabling "show hidden windows" I did that this time as well but it will not show up. when I try to add a folder (to see if it is there) named AppData is does say "do you want to replace - or merge folders" So I know the folder is there but I just cannot see it - what is happening?

The Application Data folder is no longer used in Windows 7. You will see the Application data folder, with an Arrow overlay on the folder icon. This means that this folder is a Junction and is only present for backward compatibility. It will redirect older programs to the new location, which is C:\Users\Ron\AppData\Roaming. You can backup the AppData folder instead. NOTE: The AppData folder is hidden, by default. You can click Organize/Folder and Search Options/View Tab. Hi there Windows 7 can be a little bit of a bugger for updating the folder contents sometimes. In the explorer bar, try hitting "refresh" or hold "shift" and push "F5" to force a complete refresh. This should then show your folders ok.
