Anything reducable in my windows folder?
My Windows Folder takes up 30GB, which seems to be a lot more than most other installations I have come across. It takes up almost half my diskspace :-s s (75gb). I would like to install the windows 8 beta, but it also seems to take 20gb and i need 7gb more to free for that. Is there anything reducable from my windows map? Why does it take 30gb when on installation it seemed only to take 15gb :-S I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Ah one big thing was Microsoft Office. Deinstalled it and frees almost 6GB.

Just go into Programs and Features and see what you have installed and uninstall what you don't want or need. Also make sure you don't over-write your current Windows 7 installation when you install Windows 8.

Hi, It could be relevant to winsxs directory folder, as you update Windows 7 to keep it stable and safe, it gets larger over time. But we cannot delete the files in this folder, because it is the whole system actually. Should you delete files in the \WinSXS directory? And whats the deal with VSS?
