Anyone recommend a proper Windows 7 Forum/BBS...?
...Like this one except one that: -doesnt (pettily) refuse to work with Firefox - actually emails notifications - doesn't keep logging me out (or keep showing me logged in at the top left, at the same time as showing "please sign in" underneath) - has at least reasonably fast software / server - doesnt refresh the whole page when you open a new tab Come on Microsoft - get with the real world! - if you can't even provide a decent BBS/Forum, what chance have you got with an OS?

I don't know what your issue is, but this particular forum works well with either Internet Explorer or FireFox. There are no other Microsoft-sponsored Windows 7 Beta groups available.Carey Frisch

I'm not sure what the issue is, but I use Firefox 3 on a MacBook Pro and I am not experiencing the same issues described. What kind of machine are you running on? Are you using the Windows 7 Beta to access these forums? Also, for alerts, be sure that your spam filter is not turn on (and at that your ISP isn't filtering it as well). Also, make sure that the Alert Me box is checked on the right of your screen.Joe

I find that this site works fine for me. I would like to see an option to "read first unread message" when you open a previously accessed thread (like AVS forum). Also, it would be nice if Search worked properly

Sorry I'd have to agree with the original post, these forums do seem buggy to me... but this isn't a social hangout, it servers its purpose.

Well, I can easily use the forum with IE 7/8 and Firefox 3.0.5. In each case, I have a good experience. Although I do believe that more filtering options should be made available, that is not an issue with the forum itself.

MS's crappy BBS software does not work properly for all users. I don't have a particularly peculiar setup. Win 7 + Firefox + gmail, with nothing exotic installed, no fancy firewalls, FF addons, etc. - apparently though this forum has problems loging me in, keeping me logged-in, sending me any notifcations, doesnt respect standard BBS codes. For example, if you start your post with a quote, you can't instert text (or another quote) above it (without it appearing as the quote). It's ____.
