I am using Realtek RTL8187 Wireless 802.11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter.I don't know how this would help you but, yes, it works.

I've just loaded a Compaq nc8430 laptop with integrated Intel wireless NIC. Have you tried Windows update? Possibly try a Vista driver?

I have a D-Link DWA 542 and have had issues. Windows 7 installed a generic driver with version 1.0.0.? (don't remember the last digit). When connected with VPN to my corporate network the connection would drop every 5 minutes. It appeared the whole wireless stack went down as I had to reboot to recover. I went to D-Link's support site and downloaded the latest Vista driver. This driver had version 7.4.2.48. The driver worked well, much improved performance. The next time Windows Update ran it suggested I upgrade to a yet newer driver from D-Link (Atheros). This driver had version 7.4.2.75 and is not available directly from D-Link. The driver appeared to improve performance yet some. Both .48 and .75 drop the connection (and the whole stack) as did the original, but a lot less frequently, sometimes many hours. Only reboots recover.

Hi, are you using the Realtek RTL8187 in Windows 7 64-bit? If so, where did you get the driver from? Thanks
