Microsoft Lync 2013 seems to recommend to use Lync 2013 Edge Server, not ?'

Hi,

If your query is in regards to co-existence with legacy Edge servers, you can leverage an existing Lync Edge server for your Skype for Business Front Ends(s) - the two will co-exist and operate without issue. Of course your end game (and what will always be considered best practice and recommended) is to have all your servers running the same OCS version (ie Skype for Business) across the entire topology.

More content is to be added to the Skype4B TechNet repository, but know that much of the technical architecture (including recommendations) is the same as it was Lync Server 2013.

Kind regard

We have Lync 2010 Enterprise pool plus S4B Standard Pool. Edge Server Version is Lync 2010.

In this situation....Could I have a Edge Server Lync 2013 ???

No. You cannot have Lync 2010, Lync 2013, and Skype4B all exist within the same topology. Your Edge needs to be either Lync 2010 or Skype4B in that scenario. Kind regards, Ben
