You should contact Symantec about their plans for Vista support. As well, Vista anti-virus information is posted here: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/viruses/wsc/en-us/windowsvistabeta2.mspx

I spent two days trying to get Trend Micro's Vista-beta (14.0) version of PC-Cillin to work. I haven't had that many BSOD's since the early days of Windows NT .... I'm presently waiting for Symantec's response on their Vista-compatible program test software.

A new version of Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.x (version 10.0.1.628) is compatible with the pre-release version of the Windows Vista Beta 2 operating system.

I am using Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition version 10.0.2.2000, and it does not work. Shouldn't this be a more up-to-date version than 10.0.1.628?

TA DAAAA!!!!!!! My olde AVG anti-virus was NOT compatible with WinVista build 5600 32bit HOWEVER I just dl'd the latest AVG Free version 7 build 405 and it loaded without a hitch as well as started a scan of my computer. I had to completely uninstall my original AVG first. It's free, and works just as well as Norton AV (IMHO). You can get it at free.grisoft.com. GL all. Arne

AVG will not install in RC2. Avast 4.7 works well and Microsoft has now released Live OneCare 1.5 beta for Vista. http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=806688&SiteID=17

Have you actually verified that Symantec Antivirus Corporate 10.2.0.299 works? It installs, but after a few restarts, the auto-protect automatically disables. I have ensured that defender is completely disabled, and this worked for a time, but it is back to its auto-disabling routine. Any help??

Why in hell would you want to use Norton. It is so dam invasive and A nightmare to get rid of. Try AVG, bit defender, Nod32 any of these is much better.
