Annoying: Network, No Internet Access with static IP configuration
Installed Windows 7 RC x32, and have been using it for a while now. The built-in network card detected by Windows 7 is 3COM 3C940 and the driver used is Windows 7 default, connected to Linksys WAG200G.Lately, I keep getting "Network, No Internet Access". IP configuration is using static IP configuration. It keep losing the default gateway ip address eventhough I have manually type it in. After typing in the default gateway, it refuse to stick. It keep reseting back to empty, and I have to manually type it again. After I have type the default gateway in a couple of times, I gave up and resort to removing the adapter in device manager. Windows 7 will detect the NIC again, and I will start all over by configuring the static IP and default gateway. After reboot, the settings will get lost and I will get the annoying "network, no internet access". If I use DHCP, this problem will go away...BUT I DON'T WANT TO USE DHCP configuration.UPDATE: After disabling IPv6, the static ip configuration is saved, and the default gateway is no longer going missing.
