After I applied an animated .gif file for my desktop wallpaper I noticed there was no animation. What's up?

Windows 7 has neither dreamscene or animated gif. This is the worst.

Allright they got rid of active desktop for dreamscene. Then got rid of dreamscene. Now a transcoded wallpaper. The answer didn't make sense for that reason. Boy oh boy.
