Analyse .dmp file on Windows 7
My Windows 7 laptop keep crashing as soon as I boot it up. Here is the extract of the dmp file it created. Note that I had to copy the .dmp file to a Win XP machine and read it. Can someone please help understand which driver is causing this problem? ----- 64 bit Kernel Mini Dump Analysis DUMP_HEADER64: MajorVersion 0000000f MinorVersion 00001db0 DirectoryTableBase 00000000`00187000 PfnDataBase fffff800`032ad220 PsLoadedModuleList fffff800`03242e50 PsActiveProcessHead fffff800`03224b30 MachineImageType 00008664 NumberProcessors 00000008 BugCheckCode 0000001e BugCheckParameter1 00000000`00000000 BugCheckParameter2 00000000`00000000 BugCheckParameter3 00000000`00000000 BugCheckParameter4 00000000`00000000 KdDebuggerDataBlock fffff800`031ee070 MiniDumpFields 00000cff TRIAGE_DUMP64: ServicePackBuild 00000000 SizeOfDump 00040000 ValidOffset 0003fffc ContextOffset 00000348 ExceptionOffset 00000f00 MmOffset 00002080 UnloadedDriversOffset 000020d0 PrcbOffset 000021f0 ProcessOffset 00006ef0 ThreadOffset 000073c0 CallStackOffset 00007858 SizeOfCallStack 00001000 DriverListOffset 00008b98 DriverCount 000000d0 StringPoolOffset 00010098 StringPoolSize 00004860 BrokenDriverOffset 00000000 TriageOptions ffffffff TopOfStack fffff800`00ba1968 BStoreOffset 00000000 SizeOfBStore 00000000 LimitOfBStore 00000000`00000000 DebuggerDataOffset 00008858 DebuggerDataSize 00000340 DataBlocksOffset 000148f8 DataBlocksCount 00000011 Windows XP Kernel Version 7600 MP (8 procs) Free AMD x86-64 Built by: 7600.16617.amd64fre.win7_gdr.100618-1621 Kernel base = 0xfffff800`03005000 PsLoadedModuleList = 0xfffff800`03242e50 Debug session time: Tue Dec 07 19:54:46 2010 System Uptime: 0 days 0:01:22 start end module name fffff800`03005000 fffff800`035e1000 nt Checksum: 005489D7 Timestamp: Sat Jun 19 00:16:41 2010 (4C1C44A9) Unloaded modules: fffff880`02349000 fffff880`02357000 crashdmp.sys Timestamp: unavailable (00000000) fffff880`03625000 fffff880`03741000 dump_iaStor. Bug Check 0x1E: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which the error handler did not catch. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff557408%28VS.85%29.aspx To see the cause I have to take a look at the dumps with the Debugging Tools for Windows. Please start the Windows Explorer and go to the folder C:\Windows\Minidump. Next, copy the dmp files to your desktop, zip all dmp into 1 zip file and upload the zip file to your public Skydrive [1] folder and post a link here. the link doesn't work. You have to put the files into your public skydrive folder."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Updating that driver did not help. I had to go for the ultimate option which was to do a full system restore.

also check your HDD for errors (chkdsk C: /r /f and run a diagnostic tool from your HDD manufacture)"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Thanks everyone for suggesting possible solutions. None of them worked. I had to do a full system restore. Moderator, please do not mark any reply as an answer without checking with me. If possible I would like to close this thread for replies.
