Allow 1 type of USB stick
Hi,Where I work we have a pool of laptops; For security reasons whe've got secure USB sticks for storing en tranferring data to and from these laptops;I'm wondering if it is possible to to configure the laptops in such a way that they run a certain type of script on startup that allows the user to use only the secure USB sticks and not personal USB sticks.I've been browsing the internet and found something about a vendor ID that is stored in the windows registry, but I can't figure out how to use this information and transfer it to a working script.Anybody any ideas?Cheers,Paul.1 person got this answerI do too

In Windows Vista and Windows 7 , there is a feature similar to what you want in group policy but in Windows XP you should look for third party tools to do that, it is NOT windows component. For Windows Vista and Windows 7 have a look at:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730808(WS.10).aspx#BKMK_Anchor2andhttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb530324.aspx
