All my text is now symbols
I was having problems with the internet connection-- I restarted the computer several times. Then after a restart, all the text changed to symbols. I can not read any menus-- very difficult to do anything when you can read nothing. Pictures, graphics display fine. I have restarted in Safe Mode: same problem. I have shut down and unplugged and restarted Windows 7: same problem. The Dell machine did NOT come with a bootable disk. Need Help!

Hi, Whether all the Menu and Text or only 3rd party software are in Symbols? If there are 3rd party software, I guess this is caused by the Non-unicode setting. You may also try to use System Restore to revert to a working state. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
