With my computer system windows 8.1 came an application called alarms.

Very nice and modern. Unfortunately no sound comes out of the speakers. Is this a bug on Windows 8.1 or is just a new feature ?  The volume is up and I can play audio files. I don't want to go back to Windows 8. Any ideas ?

Have you tried to use the Troubleshooting section of Control Panel?

Control Panel --> Troubleshooting --> Hardware and Sound

Have you tested other modern apps like Music? Did it have sounds?
