It would be great if there is an error code specified.Know the Fact :WIndows is designed in such a away that a Automatic restart is triggered by default whenever there is a system failure encountered by the Kernel. It appeares that there is failure during the shut down process which causes the system to restartTo obtain the actual error code triggered by the system during restart do the followingInstall the Update Turn OFF the computer Press F8 when restarting the computer until you get the windows Advanced STart-up OptionsFrom the List of Options select "Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure"Allow the system to boot Now try to shut down and the computer will not restart instead will generate a BSOD (Blue Screen with some Error codes) post the error code..ALternatively try the following too : right-click desktop, select screen saver tab, click "power" button under monitor power, select APM tab, uncheck "enable APM supportOnly for those that have Easy CD Creator 5 installed:This topic has been mentioned quite sometimes. One program in particulair is responsible for reboots after shutting down the system and that is Easy CD Creator. Uninstall ECDC and install again WITHOUT DirectCD and Take Two which are responsible for this problem.Hope all these helps ! ksreek Microsoft PSS
