After adjusting values in netplwiz - All user accounts are gone?!

Followed a guy that had a solution for NAS to backup a PC, with changes in netplwiz.

After adjusting parameters for the NAS access all other accounts got corrupted!

My account is gone in the log in display, but exist in the explorer, so I need to create new accounts instead to just get access.

In netplwiz I could still see my user account but in the start I only could access the new I created!

This just amazing what Microsoft done! How could this just be a problem that not could be corrected????

Hi,

First, please let me know what method you use to backup onto NAS.

The problem may be cause by the following reasons.

  1. The settings in properties of the account is incorrect.
  2. User profiles missed or damaged.
  3. The 3rd part backup tool will bring more problems.

You can follow the suggestions below to solve the problem.

  1. Please check your account properties in Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users, especially the account is not disabled. 2.
  2. Please make sure you have added in the group in Users and Groups > Groups.
  3. Copy the user profiles below in new account, and paste them into the disappeared account.

    a. Ntuser.dat

    b. Ntuser.dat.log

       c. Ntuser.ini

For more details about this step, refer the link below.
