After XP update my administrator account dissappeared from Log On possibilities.__
When I reboot in safe mode (F8 key held during boot) the administrator account is available and administrator desktop is accessible. How do I get administrator to work again during normal boot?

What update did you do? What version of XP do you have? If you have XP Pro or Media Center, do you normally use the built-in Administrator account for your daily work? Look in Control Panel>User Accounts and post back with the accounts listed.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

If you are running XP Pro or XP Media you can put the Administrator on the Welcome Screen using TweakUI or making the necessary registry edit.

Squashman,Very good reply. I had only the Administration user on my laptop. I then added another user and the Administrator user disappeared. I used TweakUI to get the Administrator icon to display and am now up and running. Thanks....
