After I update windows xp from a fresh install, why does my network adapter no longer connect to the internet?
I got a Dell inspiron, 2.4 GHZ , 512mb, BRAND NEW 60 GHD. I installed my fresh new XP PRO O.S. using my reinstall disc with no issues. Immediately after reboot I ran the disc for my 802.11 b/g/n USB wireless network adapter "windows xp compatible" manufactured by "REALTEK" ( Model : Realtek RTL8188SU ) and installed my hardware with no issues. I rebooted, and connected instantly to the internet! I completely updated windows ( for about an hour ) and after reboot, My network adapter could no longer connect! it was noticed, and could detect networks available but that was it. I uninstalled, and reinstalled , and browsed the manufacturers website, and adjusted settings, and REINSTALLED AND UPDATED WINDOWS TWICE , WITH ALL THE UPDATES, and still, once updated, no more net! NOW, I simply reinstalled my old network adapter, 802.11 b dlink 650 dwl and EXCELLENT connection !no issues!! I first thought that my realtek adapter was broke, but since it did the same thing twice, and stops working once I update windows, Im hunching that there has got to be a fix. I gotta go door to door on this one, please help!1 person needs an answerI do too
