After Automatic update, computer won't connect to the internet.
After the last automatic update, and restarting my computer, Windows will no longer connect to our wireless network. I use a Netgear wireless adapter, and it says it detects the wireless signal, but the Wireless Network Connection window told me to run a wireless zero configuration. I did that, and now both the netgear and Network Connection window show that there is a wireless signal. After I click connect, the status indicated that it is aquiring the network address but won't go past that. What is the next step I should take?2 people need an answerI do too

Possibly you have Windows Update set to automatically download/install updates and you inadvertently installed a driver for the wireless network adapter. You don't want to install drivers from Windows Update. Change the Windows Update settings from "automatic" to "download and inform me when updates are ready" and use "Custom" instead of "Express" so you can see what you are installing and choose updates accordingly. In the meantime, you can roll back the wireless network adapter drivers or simply go to Netgear's website and download/install the most recent ones for your adapter. How to Roll Back a Device Driver in Windows XP -http://tinyurl.com/86yb6MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
