Aero Features Disabled when Joining Server 2003 Domain
Have just joined my first 3 Win7 Pro machines to our Server 2003 Domain. The problem is Aero features are turned off when connected to the domain, but work fine locally. First thought - GPO. Ran RSOP on the user accounts, and there are no restrictions on appearance, backgrounds or display settings. The only GPO in force is to set the screen-saver on at 20m. Tried to set Aero on via personalization settings - color setting is 'Windows Classic' and can't be changed. Clearly, the Server 2003 account is restricting Aero, but I have no idea what. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris

Could it be that you've disabled some services such as Themes or Desktop Window Manager Session Manager?Try to run the builtin Troubleshooter for Windows Aero by looking up "Troubleshooting" in the start menu and then choose "Display Aero desktop effects" to analyze what is causing your problem.

Hi, Does the user profile in domain have administrator permission to modify system settings? If the user is only a standard user, please add the user to Administrators group for a test. If the user has enough permission to modify system settings, the issue can occur if the "Personalization settings" is disabled in Group Policy. For more information, please refer to the following article: Group Policy Settings for Personalization Thanks, Novak
