Advanced boot options for repair & restore
The PC has a (advanced boot options) for repair & restore of the computer. On the (options window) theres a list, one is the (debugging mode). Will the debugging option help (remove) malware, spyware & virus from the computer ? My interest to know advanced ways to remove malware, such as trojans has increased. Lee Payne

Lee The debugging option reached via the F8 key will not remove malware. You need a combination of programs and everyone has their favourites, but these will remove most of the nasties: 1. Download Microsoft Security Essentials, here http://www.microsoft.com/SECURITY_ESSENTIALS/ and install it. 2. Microsoft has a standalone tool that can help start an infected PC by running an offline scan that can identify and remove rootkits and other malware. In addition, it can be used if you cannot install or start your antivirus program, or if the installed program cant detect or remove the malware. If you cannot boot the computer, use a working machine to download Windows Defender Offline. Download the appropriate 32-bit or 64-bit version here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/what-is-windows-defender-offline?SignedIn=1&SignedIn=1 and burn a CD. Boot from the CD and run a full scan. 3. Download the free Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install it. Follow the prompts but make sure ticks are placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware then click Finish. 4. If youve been hijacked, go to the Malware section of this site but thoroughly read the instructions before posting your HijackThis log, here http://aumha.net/

I'am now using the (free version) of the Anti-malwarebytes software. The first time scan took-away (25) detected objects. I'll be studying this software for a long-time, probly as a investment. Thanks for the advise. Lee Payne
