Advanced Printing on laser printers does not work after Windows 7 downloaded KB2653956 Update and Windows XP downloaded KB2656369 Update.
Hello most of our customers have started to report that they can no longer printing to their laser printers with advanced settings such as N-UP,
staple ,print multiple copies , three hole punch, pint back to front last page first, print handout view and they have started to experience this issue after a recent windows update they had on their XP and Windows 7 machines. Customers
are reporting that it is an issue with our software which is not true since it was working earlier and we haven't changed anything on our side that would affect this and also these are printer settings which our code doesn't even have access to in order to
modify if at all. We have narrowed down to the above updates that is causing the problem.
Any Idea why this could happen and what we can do to fix this? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

Hi,
Windows 7 KB2653956:
A security issue has been identified that could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to compromise your system and gain control over it. You can help protect your system by installing
this update from Microsoft. After you install this update, you may have to restart your system.
This KB should not affect to use printer advanced settings. Try to remove KB2653956 for test to see if the
same issue occurs.

Hello Mr Huang. Thank you for responding. Uninstalling the Update did restore advanced printing functionality for us. I also want to let you know that the printing capability i am talking from is through .Net 2.0. I also found below link
https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/737710/printing-issues-resulting-from-kb-updates which speaks about
issues with printing after XP update
KB2656369 which i mentioned as well . Uninstalling these two updates did restore us the advanced printing features from .Net 2.0. It is only after this that i have posted in the forum to see if there is any hotfix available or any other
programmatic fix that MS would suggest.
Please let me know
