Ok thanks for your reply, I have done everything you asked was already done. Windows update, everyone succeeded so no failures. I am still at a loss why this darn computer keeps doing it. It was working fine before the windows 8.1 update. Any other suggestions?
I just got this when I went back to Facebook:
It looks like you haven't got a current version of Flash Installed. You can get it here (wouldn't let me post link) but link to flash player...........
It looks like you haven't got a current version of Flash installed.Or if you are on tablet, download the app now!

Hi ChristineVo,
"Then some new updates turned up so I installed them and it seems to be working for now"
I am glad the issue has been resolved and thanks for updating .
Best regards
Hi ChristineVo,
"My last resort is to set my computer back to factory settings and reformat the whole thing"
This is the worst situation and we may lose the important data.
If the issue occurred recently ,we can try to perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous point
Have you tried to reinstall the Adobe Flash (there is a possibility that the installation has corrupted ) ?
Considering this issue is related to the Adobe Flash ,we also can try to ask for help from their forums .They may have more resources to resolve the issue .
" I liked Windows 8 when I first got it but hate it now :("
We can upgrade the Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 for free .Here is a link for reference of doing this :
Update to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8

Hi ChristineVo,
There is a possibility that the installation of the Adobe is conflicted with the specific updates or the installation has corrupted .Have you tried to reinstall the Adobe software to have a check ?
If it is possible ,we can run "services.msc" to check and disable the "Adobe Flash player update service" directly.
" Everything was fine until the latest 8.1 update on windows."
Please check the update history for any failed updates .
If the issue persists ,we can perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous point to have a check.
Best regards
