I'm trying to download the WinHlp32.exe file for Vista. MS ask for validation first & when I go thru the steps I get taken to some page to download Explorer 9 & tries to sell me Windows 7. I can find no where on this page to download the file nor does it continue with validation. I've web sheached for it & only get sells pitches to scan my machine for errors or refered back to MS to start this process all over again. HELP???? jp jones

Which web browser are you using? It appears that use need to be using a version of Internet Explorer. Windows Genuine Advantage validation requires an ActiveX control to be installed in the browser. (If you're using IE, did you get a popup about the ActiveX control, or at least a warning about the popup? Your security settings may not permit the ActiveX control to be installed.) Also, you've posted in a Windows 7 support group. Vista probably isn't much different from 7 in this regard, but you might get more responses in the Vista area.

HELP???? jp jones The fact that you've been offered IE9 and MSE means that you've passed validation - Why the page isn't reverting back to the download is another matter, and probably means that the download link is not properly formed.. -- Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth
