Adminitrator user
How do i change the administrstor to myself on a used computer. My mistakes started with simply changing the name mandy-pc to James-pc. Now everything i do needs permission from james-pc/mandy-pc. So i continued to mess up by changing access for mandy-pc,
everything is now denied for mandy-pc, so now i can't access some programs and files. please help me get rid of mandy for good. i really believe this can be done without reinstalling windows 7

Sir, please add your User to Administrator group by :
Right click on Computer ---> Manage --->
System Tools --> Local Users and Groups --->
Groups --> Double click on Administrator ---> add your user --> ok --->
Log Off --> login again

I can get as far as system tools. Local Users and Groups is not an option in the system tools.

You will not see the Local Users and Groups if you're using Windows 7 Home Basic or Windows 7 Home Premium.
You will have to change the account type from Control Panel >
User Accounts > Manage another account >
Select you user account > Change the account type >
Administrator. To do this, you'll first have to be logged in with an administrator account. After you apply these settings, your user account will also have administrative privilege from then on.
You also mentioned "So i continued to mess up by changing access for mandy-pc". Where did you make changes? Reverse them if you remember what you did or if you don't tell us where you made these changes so that we can suggest you what the default
settings there should be.
Please revert back here with the status. Hope it helps!Kunal D Mehta - a Windows Server Enthusiast | I'm on facebook.com/serverbaba
