Administrator rights question.
Hey all.
I've installed Windows Vista RC1 5600 couple of days ago, and I'm having this strange problem. Every time I want to exp. download a file, and save it to partition, other than my "User name" folder, exp. on D:, I get the message that only Administrators can save files there, and that I should turn to Machine admin, in order to fix the problem. Also, if I want to run defrag.exe to defragment my HDD I get the same message, that only computer admin can use that function. And I'm the comp admin, I'm the only Account there is on my PC, and I have admin rights.
Looking forward to helpul answer.

Check UAC tool in User Accounts in Control Panel, try to disable/enable it.
Good luck

Hi,
thanks for your reply, but would you mind explaining me what UAC Tool is... I'm using German version of Vista, and don't know exactly to what are you reffering to.
Thanks. :)

And don't forget to remove any passwords you might have been using, too. Deactivate any firewalls. Rather than learning about security features, might as well just turn them all off.
