Administrator privileges and security updates after TDSS rootkit removal and Vundo removal with 0x81000202 error in system restore
I have successfully removed TDSS rootkit and Vundo after 5 days of running various removal programs (Malware anitbytes, spybot, etc) and also scanned my computer with several virus programs. I am currently running Windows Security essentials and AVG Free 9.0. The problem is I am unable to update my security systems from microsoft and get two error codes: 0x081000202 and 80070490 on the dowmloads. I also cannot run System restore (which was originally not even available until I ran a utility to restore it) as it says Volume Shadow opy Service is not running. When I go to services, it shows as running, but RPC is locked and I cannot unlock it. The trojans/Virus that I had have apparently changed my privileges and I am unable to do a number of things. I have also seen a "creator" user come up once while looking at various settings (looked at so many can't remember where that was). Any Ideas on where to go in the registry to get my privileges back and remove or invalidate this hidden user?
