Administrator account has been changed to standard user
Friends son was logged in as the Administrator and has changed the Administrator account to a standard user account and changed the name to Peter administrator. Now have no administrative user on the PC. Have tried system restore but it would not go back far enough.

Hey there :) , Get into Control Panel where you would be able to see User Accounts. From here, you would be able to manage and change the settings for the Administrator and as such :) Have a good day :)- Still a Learner :) -

If only it was that simple. The reason i cannot make any changes is because the Administrator account has been renamed and set to a 'Standard User' account, therefore i cannot make this change because there is no administrative access.

Thanks for the link, i have tried that and still have the same issue. A window appears 'User Account Control' Windows needs your permission to continue. If you started this action continue. Windows Command Processor Microsoft Windows. To continue, type an administrator password, and then click OK. Unfortunately the OK button is greyed out and i can only click Cancel. Again this comes back to not having any administrative access.

I copied all the data and completed a fresh install of the Operating system. The moral here is do not let your children have access to an administrator account, it costs you time and money.
