Administrative priviliges
My brother just recently recieved a new computer, a Dell Optiplex 760 with Windows Professional as the OS. He decided to give it to me since he has two computers although we are having a problem with the account we are able to use. The account we are able to use has no programs except Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer and the basics in the Accessories folder of the start menu. The administrative account of the computer has restricted almost everything. There is no way to see My computer or any of the hard drives, there are no folders to open, I can't right click on the desktop to bring up anything. Is there a way to go around this without having to track down the original administrative user information or will I just need to reinstall XP?1 person got this answerI do too

You should do a clean installation of XP. http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html - Clean Install How-To http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Reinstalling_Windows - What you will need on-hand MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
