Administrative Rights problem with Dell Studio XPS using Vista
I downloaded the C-Print Version 2.6 [Server] Software. I have entered my name; Company name; and Serial Number. Then when I click o.k. I get the following message: "Your account "Lafsa" does not have the privileges to allow C-Print to complete your registration. To proceed, launch C-Print using an account with administrative rights and ensure no other software is restricting your accounts access privileges." How do I set my administrative rights so I can launch this software? How do i ensure no other software is restricting my access privileges? I do so miss Windows XP which was far more user friendly than Vista. Thank you Purringotn

Hi, Thank you for your post! To set the account with administrative rights, you can add the account to administrator group. Right click on Computer->Manage->system tools->local users and groups->Groups->double click on Administrators->Add... To ensure no other software is restricting the privileges, you can prepare clean boot. Clean Boot prevents software conflicts by preventing the startup items and non Microsoft services from loading. This way you can safely follow the process of elimination to check which application is causing this behavior. Refer: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note: Ensure that you put your computer back to normal startup mode after completing the troubleshooting steps. Steps are available in the article given above.
