Adding a security key to an established internet connection
We have already had a wireless internet connection set up which we have been using for a year...A neighbour came round to say that they are able to connect to our unsecure network connection, so obviously I now need to 'secure it'. Do I do this by adding a secuirty key? I have followed windows instructions on doing this , but it says it cannot detect our router despite it being plugged in directlyto the laptop.

Not a question for the Security Essentials forum. Go to the website for the manufacturer of your router, and look at securing it. This will involved logging on to the router, and establishing a WEP (or other) key. Once done, you MUST use the same key for the devices in your home.Doc

Thats great, I tried that and I have reset the security following the steps advised on the manufacturers web site. Thank you.
