Added 1 gig of ram and its not showing up
I have a Compaq Presario Media center SR2050NXDesktopI comes with 1 gig of ramI purchased from crucial tech one gig of ram Part#ct607665I looked up on their site which Piece I needed,and according to their Q&A I could add one gig,I did not have to buy a matching setI installed it and it did not show under properties,it still says 960 of ramIchecked to make sure its seated,I tried switching them,putting the new gig in 0 and my old gig in 1I even tried just the new gig in 0 without the old gig and the new on shows 960I will call the company on tuesday when i am homeMy first thought is that even though thier site says it does not have to be a matching set,i think it mightAnybody out there with the exact compute,have you added a gig and it showed under propertiesThankJoe

First of all ,it is adviced to use matching set of Ram ( 2 from the same kind ,mark ) specially with compc , hp , packard bell ....,secound do you have shared video or separeate vga card ? if it is shared video ( onboard) then the 960 +40 for video = 1 gig is ok .Also you can check compac web site for which ram to buy or compatable , does your motherboard support 2 gig ram or not ?Good luck
