Add Printer wizard not returning full list of published printers
(All Windows 7 clients) We've got a few hundred network printers on the domain that are both shared & published in AD. The strange thing is that when a user goes to: Start -> Devices and Printers -> Add a printer -> Add a network, wireless or bluetooth printer -> The returned results are a tiny fraction of the actual printers that are published in AD. If you continue the wizard and select: The printer that I want isn't listed -> Find a printer in the directory, based on location or feature -> The returned results list every single printer that is shared in the domain (hundreds of them). Why doesn't the first list list all the printers? What is different about the query it makes to AD? For one of the printers that does exist in the first list if you go to the properties on the printer and un-tick 'Publish in directory' it stops it appearing in the first list. But if you tick it again it never comes back!!

Yeah i have that too. In the second list you can select at the top the correct domain or subdomain and it may shorten the amount of printers listed.www.mypchealth.co.uk
