when I access the add/remove program, I get the message to wait while the screen is being populated. It never happens. The screen says to wait and the curser stays as a hour glass. I have waited for hours and nothing happens.Any thoughts??

Did you make any changes to the computer recently?You are required to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing this and then disable or remove it.How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" statehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353/en-usNote: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow the steps as explained in the article to reset the computer to start as usual.Also I would recommend you to install the Windows XP service pack 3 for better stability of the operating system.
