Add/Remove Components Error and DVD Driver Error
I removed several windows components yesterday in an attempt to clean up my cpu. After restarting, I noticed that my DVD drive had disappeared. I tried to update the driver but was told i have the most up to date version, i uninstalled and reinstalled the drive, but I still get the same error. Under driver details, it shows that I have a bunch of drivers for my Phillips DVD drive. However, the device status is as follows: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. I did the troubleshoot, and both options did not fix the problem. Then I tried to add the windows components that I removed, thinking maybe that was the problem. However, when I try to add them, I get an error message that says "setup cannot copy file zClientm.ex_" It shows the location of this file as being in windows/i386, and sure enough, the file is in that folder. So when I go to browse to try and locate the file, I find it and click on it to open, but I continue to get the same error message that the file cannot be found, and setup cannot continue. I realize that this problem sounds very obsure and bizarre, but any help at all would be appreciated. thanks.1 person needs an answerI do too
