Adaptor missing from Network & Sharing Center, but working fine and found in "Network Connections".
I am using the internet fine right now, but the adapters are missing from "Network & Sharing Center".
Adaptors are working and in Device Manager, Network Connections, without errors.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device and drivers.
Netman service is running.
Connection is fine and I am using to post this.
Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (Driver from MS) Built in to EVGA X58 MOBO.
Help thanks!

Hi,
Try the below steps to find network adaptor:
1. Click on start button and select Control Panel.2. Click on Network and Sharing Center.3. In Network and Sharing Center window, click on change adapter settings on the right-hand side panel. Hope this information is helpful.

They are there, but that is not the problem.
Network and Sharing Center says I am not connected to the internet. Even though I am.
Because of this, I cannot connect to other things that require this be populated, like my VPN.
I cannot "Create a connection" because there are no adapters present in "Network and Sharing Center", even though the adapters work and are in Device Manager.

Hi,
Please also completely remove the current drive and try the NIC driver which is from EVGA or Realtek:

Realtek Drivers & Utilities

Sorry but is this a joke? I mean marking your reply by yourself as the answer, where I see no response from the question owner that it answered his/her question, or solved the problem.
I have the same problem by the way. I tried different thing, trying to reinstall drivers etc, nothing worked. Actually at some point it became even worse when I was trying to remove and install network adapter drivers, I lost my VPN completely. I had to
go back on system recovery. Now the VPN software from my company has a new version they are forcing, which installation fails all the time, because as mentioned here, Windows 7 "thinks" I don't have connection and adapters are missing, or I don't know what.
I have seen other people complaining about this issue. It is strange that the adapters are listed in the device manager, and I have internet connection working but it reports as if I don't have any connection.

Just to give update, I tried pretty much everything I found that could fix this, uninsall drivers, reinstall drivers, set access control, etc etc. Nothing worked.
I bit the bullet, and reinstalled windows 7 from scratch, fixed it!
So it appears some sequence of installation/uninstallation or badly written driver installation/uninstallation package(s) can leave the drivers setup in a bad state, and windows 7 network adapters UI is not robust enough to handle this.
