Adapter issues..
I have a Asus Model K53E. Using a Atheros AR8285 Wireless network adapter. Everytime I sign into my laptop, It doesn't pick up network access points, Why? Because it isn't enabled. So I need to go to the "Network and Sharing" center, then "Change Adapter Settings" and I need to right click the wireless adapter and do trouble shoot. And the only solution is to "TURN ON WIRELESS CAPABILITY'S" Now this really annoys me. That every time I need to get on my laptop, I need to do this so it turns on my wireless adapter. Is there a way to make it so it turns on without me needing to do this? So whenever I need to get on my laptop it just connects? I've looked for this myself, but I haven't found a way. If I can get any help on this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

1. How did you install operating system? Have you install chipset driver just after vanilla plain W 7 had been installed (audio, video and NIC drivers follows after chipset) 2. Have you used drivers from hw vendor? 3. It does not hurt to address vendors support forum.... Rgds Milos

Hi, Based on my understanding, it seems that the wireless adapter is not turned on automatically. Therefore, please try the following and see how it works. 1. Check if you have disabled wireless function via shortcut keys or Fn keys when system starts. 2. Update the driver to the latest and see how it works. You can download it from Asus Download Center for Asus K53E. 3. Uninstall the device from Device Management, reboot your system and let system reinstall it automatically. If issue persists, it is recommended to contact Asus Support for help. Hope this helps. Jeremy Wu TechNet Community Support
