Ad hoc Vista Home to iPhone
Hi - I'm trying to set up an ad hoc connection to my iPhone just for synchronising.
Am running Vista Home Premium, and after setting up an ad hoc network, my iPhone is able to get an IP address 169.254.x.x
However, the wireless adapter says Media Disconnected and the ad hoc network is still Waiting for Others to Connect.
I've disabled all my firewalls, and have tried to put a static address in my iPhone as well. I'm using a Dell Studio with an Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN - have downloaded the latest driver from Dell. Have tried to switch off IPv6 as well.
Here's ipconfig /all printout as wel

Hi,
Thank you for posting!
Can you ping each other?
Please check the following settings:
Set the network cards to run in "ad-hoc" mode, instead of infrastructure.
Go into the network card properties and set a channel for the wireless network to use. Make sure you set the channel to the same number on each machine. If you don't have the same value set, the network will not work
