Ad Hoc Wireless Connection won't share internet
Hi In my home, I have one main laptop with the internet modem connected, and several other laptops, plus an iPhone. Recently, I managed to create an ad hoc network to share the internet connection from the main laptop, and this worked perfectly for about a month. However, for some reason this suddenly stopped working one day, and I have been scouring the internet and trying absolutely everything I can think of to fix it. Basically, it seems like the main laptop does not want to share the internet. The internet itself works fine, connected by ethernet to the modem, but whenever I try and create a new ad hoc network, it comes up with every single option except the very last step which allows you to share the internet. I have looked on every single properties window, and still no clue as to what this is all about. I am running Windows Vista Home Edition on a HP Pavillion Any help whatsoever would be much appreciated, this is driving me NUTS!!! Matt

what you'v been doing or trying to do is called ICS(internet connection sharing" what u should do is; disconnect the internet conection create an ad-hoc connection btw 2/more laptops,u could create the ad-hoc network on the internet connected PC. make sure you save the newly created network and try to connect to it from the other laptop.make sure you select automatically connect to this network. now disconnect from the wireless network connect the host laptop to the internet go to network and sharing center, view all network connections,right-click the internet connection and click properties,go to the advanced tab, check the "allow other computer to connect to internet through this computer" checkbox.click ok.u might have to disconnect and reconnect back. then connect ad-hoc wireless connection you saved.GoodluckTunde Abagun MCP,MCSA,MCTS,MCITP en p "for the love of Computers"

Hi, The registry may contain corruption. If possible, please compare the registry with another working computer and delete the unnecessary one on the problematic one.
