Trying to install Windows7 on a new computer from a disc which I previously used to upgrade my old computer, yields a key activation error! Please help

WIN | slui.exe 4 | ENTER Find the number to call. Call. If activation fails, stay on the fon to get a real person. WIN is the key with the Microsoft flag on top.

OEM license such as HP or Dell which are pre-installed on new computer are not permitted to be transferred at all. How and where you FORMAT the hard drive is irrelevant. What is relevant is 1 license = 1 machine; 1 machine = 1 license. In other words, you need a license for EACH machine
