Activation
I have had a problem with Mesh Computers. I ordered a new desktop machine on 19 September 2010. It arrived late, but at least it arrived. The problem is that it had NO Microsoft Windows 7 activation code attached and no Windows DVD. Having phoned Mesh (chargeable helpline) several times to request the Activation code be sent I am told that they are awaiting delivery of a batch of codes and that I will be sent one in the next few days. No code has arrived. My activation time expires now and I contacted them today and received the same message that a code will be sent next week. (which I doubt) I also received this email ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 164097-Mesh ... From: Jxxx <Jaxxxx@meshcomputers.com> ... Add to Contacts To: "xxx.xxx@yahoo.Com" <xxxx.xxx@yahoo.Com> <!--.EmailQuote {margin-left:1pt;padding-left:4pt;border-left:#800000 2px solid;}--> Dear xxxx, Following are the instructions on how to reset the activation period: Click on Start-> All Programs-> Accessories Right click on Command Prompt and left click on Run As Administrator. Click on OK and at the command prompt, type: slmgr -rearm Press Enter and follow the on screen instructions. This should extend the activation period for another 30 days. Regards, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ to reset the activation clock - I cannot think that this is honoring their contract with Microsoft I spoke to microsoft and they say that this should not happen and its illegal but they can do nothing and I need to talk to Mesh I think that Mesh are offering very poor customer support What should I do next?

If you have paid for a Windows on the new PC, request a DVD + COA (with product key) from the seller."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

I don't where you or Mesh computers are located, but you might want to lodge a complaint against them with the BBB. If there's a web site for customer satisfaction, give them a bad review, listing all that has happened. If Mesh has a contact email or corporate email, start sending requests for what you have paid for. If you used a credit card, contact the card company and lodge a complaint. You might have to send the computer back, but you'll get your money back, and the CC company will put a strike against them. Enough strikes and they'll pull their license to use XXX credit card. None of this may get you your activation code any sooner, but it may make you feel a little vindicated for the trouble they've caused you. If you do not have a Product Key, it is not able to activate the system with any methods. You may try the suggestion from the Mesh support to delay the expiration and wait for the Product Key. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. ”
