Acess to Windows Media Player Streams Over a SSH Tunnel
Hi, I have Win 7 Ultimate and am using Window Media Player 12 to share my music library over my home network. All works fine the PS3, laptop and android phone can all see the library and stream content from it. I have been trying to find ways of connecting to my library remotely via an SSH tunnel, but have been unable to find any definitive list of ports, or a procedure that actually works. The tunnel is already set-up and works fine and I'm familiar with the concept of forwarding ports through this and a proxy server. There are numerous lists of ports that state should be forwarded I have tried most of these but cannot get the remote system (Another Win 7 PC with WMP 12) to see the remote library, nothing appears under "Other Libraries". Has anyone got any ideas how I could accomplish this ? I know there is an option to share over a WAN, I have seen this but I want to go down the Tunnel route so I can still stream my media on networks that block lots of the popular ports. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Martin.

Hi, Please understand, Windows Media Player only could share media on the same subnet. Please refer this article http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Sharing-media-on-a-network-using-Windows-Media-Player Thanks for understanding.William Tan TechNet Community Support
