Acer Aspire iDea 511 gets no network via LAN cable
HiMy latest toy (Intel VIIV based Acer Aspire iDea 511 computer with Vista Home Premium) does not get any network when I plug in the LAN cable that is connected to a Cisco WRT54g router. Yes I know both the router and the computer offer wireless LAN but I don't want to use that. I looked into device manager but the network card is there and has a driver so I have no clue what could be causing the problem. The cable does work by the way if I plug it into one of my other computers. Could it be an incompatibility between the NIC and the router? The router does 100 mbps and the NIC does 1000 mbps. Maybe it is that?Or what else should I check? Acer's support is closed for the day in my neck of the woods so they can't help me now. Thanks

For the record: Fixed by nailing the NIC to 100 mbps full duplex. The default setting was auto negotiate and that did not want to work.
