Access to A Shared Drive
I installed Windows 7 Beta forfew daysand find it's good to use. However, i do have a problem with it. I use NAS which is Buffalo Link Station Pro. The first half day after the installation of Windows 7, icould access to the NAS, But after then, every time when i try to access to it, an "Network Error Box reading "Windows cannot access \\LINKSTATION. Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose.fter i click Diagnose, it's saying "This error cannot be automatically repaired". I then further checked the details, it's saying that error 234 is found.Pls help to find the solution with thanks.

Are you running any antivirus/firewall solutions (other than Windows Defender, Windows Firewall, etc.) which might interfere with your network access? There are lot of known issues with these kind of products, so you might want to try temporarily shutting them down or even completely uninstalling them.

I have a LanServer enclosure which I can see in the Network browser, but I cannot access the shared folders. "Network error 1208 message: Access denied, contact network administrator to determine if you have permission." (Not exact word for word, but close)

I have the same problem at work. I also have a problem when adding a network location to connect to our ftp. It says i don't have permission to access that folder.

It works.Carlos

I have two NAS, one Buffalo and one Maxtor. The Buffalo works fine, but can not access the Maxtor. I have no firewall running other than MS defender. I have the system as a dual boot with XP. Switching back to XP, it works fine.

Hi, i have fixed the problem. Actually the problem comes with an anti-virus program, after the uninstallation of it, i can now access to the NAS.
