Access on Network Map Driver, on Windows 7 --- Important*
Hallo Windows Experts, I have a very urgent problem here which is like the following: I have a windows 2003 standard Edition 32-bit, which serve our company as a File Server. we mapped this File Server in our Windows XP ( e.g. R:\ ) and access it without any problems. I have upgraded our Clients from XP to Windows 7 64-bits. I still be able to map this File Server on my Windows 7 but the Problem is the following: when I click on the mapped drive R:\ , sometime I pass to the folders inside R:\ and do my work. OR sometime, although I clicked on R:\ to pass to the intern folders , it return me back to R:\ and I have to click 5-10 times on R:\ to let me pass to intern Folders. Example: R:\ is the mapped drive, folder1 is a folder in R:\, folder 11 is a folder inside folder1. If I need to open a file in folder11, normally, I need to click on R:\ --> fodler1 --> folder11 and then open the file. In my case, I click on R: and then click on folder1, instead of pass me to folder11, it returns me back to R:. and I have to do the same process 5-10 times , after that it will pass me to folder11 and then i can open the file. please answer this blog, its very important to me. Thanks

I suspect that the behavior is caused by authentication issues. Which credential are you using to map the folder? You can add this credential under “Windows Credentials” in: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Credential Manager Another optional solution is changing the NTLM authentication level in Windows 7. 1. Launch gedit.msc from Start Search box. 2. Locate to: Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Network security: LAN Manager authentication level 3. Change the policy setting to “Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated”.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hallo Arthur, I have applied the second solution, but unfortunately I had the same problem today. About the first solution, I did not understand exactly what you mean? I have a mapped network drive //zoll/data/ and has the letter Y: on my Desktop, when I click on Y:\ a new window opens and all folders are displayed, but when am trying to access any folder in this windows, the folder will be opened (i can see it's contents ) and after 5 sec i will be directly return to the main window Y:\. I have to repeat this several times to get inside without getting back to Y:\ . So what should I exactly do in windows credential , I have no idea about that ! I appreciate your help in advanced . The first suggestion in my previous post is opening Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Credential Manager. Then, click “Add a Windows credential”. Then add the credential you are using for the drive mapping. If the issue persists, I suggest you temporary disable the firewall and antivirus in Windows Server 2003 and check the result. Hello Arthur, I have tried that solution but the problem still appears. My DFS still show this problem and never stopped. Shall I configure anything at my Domain Controller or could be any Network Element causing this problem ? Please provide your Help again, am not able to get any optimal solution ! Thanks alot
