Access is denied - Editing Hosts file
Hi Experts, I always use an alternative program to windows default notepad i.e. Notepad++. I can edit most of the files but when I try to edit hosts file located %windir%\system32\drivers\etc. I get an error message - "Please check if this file is opened in another program". I tried running the notepad++ program as an administrator but no luck. The interested thing is that I can edit the hosts file using the default notepad and it works fine, so I thought it may be bug with notepad++, so I tried downloading Notepad2 and I got the error message "Access is denied". Any help will be highly appreciated. Bhavesh

Thanks for your reply I have fixed the issue, it was Kaspersky AV that blocked Notepad++ program from editing the hosts file. Bhavesh
