Access denied on network folder from one machine only
Scenario Windows server 2008 R2 Windows Vista SP2 workstations, 2 computers X (problem one) and Y (good one) 2 user accounts, same permissions User A (problem user) and User B (good user) All computers are domain members User A reports not able to save, create a file in a share on the server whilst on computer X Checked security and sharing rights and client had already modified Domain Users and also added the Everyone group and given full control in security rights to the folder in question on server. Reset the owner and permissions for good measure on the problem folder on server. Found still same result of User A access denied on computer X but user B can do all operations fine on computer Y. Thought maybe the antivirus getting in the way on the problem computer X, turned off and same result, access denied for user A. Tested by having user A log into good computer Y and found problem disappeared. Then tested by having good user B log into Problem computer X and found that the problem remained of access denied for the share folder on the server. So to me, this points to it not being a user issue or a security rights issue of the folder in question on the server. But an issue with computer X itself, since it doesn’t matter if user A or B log into that computer as the same result occurs. (Proved by if user A or B log into good computer Y then all is fine) The issue “feels” like a trust relationship problem to the server. But the issue has only surfaced of late and the problem computer X has been a domain member for many months without issue. So what how would one resolve this one? I know one solution would be to format computer X and start again. But if there is a clever way, then that would be much more equitable. Thanks in advance for any help with this one. Barry

Hi, Could you please create another shared folder and try again? I suspect it is certain software running background conflict with Computer X.
